SERVICE AT LION AIR

Lion Air is Indonesia's leading low cost or budget airlines. It embarked on its first flight in the year 2000. The airline offers high class service and facilities at a more affordable price. 1

Operating the new service with Boeing 737-900ER aircraft, the CEO of the Airline, Rusdi Kirana, said he is confident that the new route will be popular with Lion Air customers, a feeling supported by the fact that tickets on the inaugural flights between the two destinations have been quickly snapped up by an eager public. 2

Lion Air has again indicated delays ahead in their plans to commence service between Denpasar (Bali) and Perth, Western Australia. Initially indicating the new service would start flying in late November 2005, the management of the airline pushed the start date back to mid-December following the October 1, 2005 terror attack. 3

Jakarta on Thursday, 7 May 2009. After signed in the contract, Lion Air would submit new maintenance schedule for its aircraft for one year to ease the slot availability at GMF. 4

According to GMF Account Manager Mr. Khomsadi to increase cooperation, GMF must commit to provide better service to Lion Air as it has agreed. ?We are committed to improve our service to Lion Air,? said Mr. Khomsadi. 5

He said Lion Air was a hybrid carrier rather than a low-cost airline, meaning that it is somewhere between a low-cost and full-serviced airline. 6

Recently Connexus Air has joined with Lionair to assist in the lease and setup of domestic operations using a BAe Jetstream 41 aircraft. It is planned to start the first service by November 2006. 7

Lion Air offers executive facilities to its passengers including comfortable leather seats, personal care and high quality international meals. The airline has two separate lounges for the passengers. The Lion King Lounge located on the first floor of the 1A terminal is exclusively for the Business Class passengers. 8

Demonstrating the airline?s success of a low-cost carrier, Lion Air became the example for the trend of low-cost carriers in the international airlines industry. The airline was also regarded as a phenomenal low-cost carrier in Indonesia. 9

Lion Air operates an all-Boeing fleet and is the largest low-cost airline in Asia with traffic approaching one million passengers per month since the airline's inception in June 2000. 10

A spokesman for the Sydney-based Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation, Derek Sadubin, said Lion Air was a reputable airline with a solid funding base. 11

From June 2009 Lion Air will start operating flights to Jeddah, will be using Boeing 747-400 ex Oasis Airlines. On 31 May 2009, the a picture of the first Boeing 747-400 was uploaded to airliners.net. 12

B737-900ER will enable Lion Air to offer more non stop flight at low fares to more destinations throughout Indonesia and beyond. 13

These aircraft will be assigned to Lion's wholly-owned subsidiary Wings Air and be used to provide passenger feed.Rusdi says at year-end it will have five ATR 72-500 turboprops and next year it will receive five more. 14
